Mold and Mildew

Any dark, warm and moist environment, such as your bathroom, is a prime area for mold to grow. Mold is a fungus that can be identified by color-shades of pink, brown or black, spotting the surface. Mold that grows in the bathroom area is generally referred to as mildew. Large amounts of mildew create a musty, sour odor. It is usually found under sinks, around window frames and sills and where tubs and showers meet the floor.

Prevent It
There are several steps you can take to prevent mold and mildew growth. Decrease the humidity in the air by turning on the fan when you shower, and leave the bathroom lights on before, during and after the bath or shower. Wipe down all moist areas, and hang up all towels and clothing to dry. Also remember to clean frequently using a specially formulated antibacterial cleaner that combats mildew, such as Scrubbing Bubbles® Aerosol Bathroom Cleaner or Scrubbing Bubbles® Mega Shower Foamer.

Cleaning Tip
Soap scum cannot be removed simply by rinsing your bathtub, so you should use a specially formulated cleanersuch as the Scrubbing Bubbles® Mega Shower Foameron a weekly basis. Mega Shower Foamer features a wide spray and a powerful, grimebusting formula that penetrates and dissolves soap scum.
